Southend-on-Sea Film Festival

The ninth annual Southend-on-Sea Film Festival took place over the late May Bank Holiday. I am delighted to say that during the five day event, one of the best attended shows was 'The Laurel and Hardy Laughter Show' which I presented on Monday 29th May 2017.

Our theme was 'Let Battle Commence' and featured 'Them Thar Hills', 'Tit For Tat', the cartoon 'The Merry Mutineers' and a couple of extra montages. The real or reel bonus was David Wyatt showing  'Battle of the Century' on 16mm film with piano accompaniment by the very accomplished Adam Ramet.

Sons of the Desert from six tents, Saps At Sea, The Live Ghost, Helpmates, Men O 'War, County Hospital and Sailors Beware were in the 260 strong audience. A wonderful afternoon.
